One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Route 22 in Burrell Township early Friday evening.
The accident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. in the eastbound lanes as the vehicles climbed Penn View Mountain.
It’s not clear what led to the accident, but Tim Stipcak, Black Lick fire chief, said one of the vehicles overturned, and the other caught fire.
The flames were extinguished by a truck driver who was passing by. One person was taken to a hospital, Stipcak said.
Traffic was restricted to one lane while the accident was cleared. Blairsville firefighters assisted at the scene, and state police are investigating.
