Kerrville, TX : 17-year-old girl dead after a car crash in Gillespie County on Saturday evening, June 25, 2016

A 17-year-old Kerrville girl is dead after the car she was riding in crashed Saturday evening in Gillespie County.
Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Ben Zamora said the wreck
happened at what is known as Dead Man’s Curve on Texas 16, about five miles south of Fredericksburg, shortly before 9 p.m.
The girl, whose name is not yet being released, was the passenger in a Hyundai Elantra driven by a 17-year-old male.
Zamora said the Elantra was headed south on Texas 16 and went into a sideways skid when a Ford Explorer traveling north hit the Elantra’s passenger side.
“I’m still trying to investigate if (the driver) lost control or not,” Zamora said. “The roads were slick from the rain.”
The driver sustained injuries to his arm and is back home with his parents, Zamora said.
The driver and front-seat passenger in the Explorer were a married couple whose 13- and 10-year-old children were passengers in the back seat of the vehicle. They were traveling to Kerrville from Marble Falls. The couple was taken to University Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening, Zamora said.
