Two people were injured when a wrong-way driver crashed into another car on SR-143 near University on Monday morning.
The Department of Public Safety says they received called reporting a wrong-way driver on northbound SR-143 just before 2 a.m.
According to DPS, the man got on from Loop 202 and drove a half of a mile to a mile southbound on the northbound lanes.
Officers were already responding when the wrong-way driver collided with a second vehicle, so they were able to get to the crash scene very quickly.
Both drivers were injured. We're told the wrong-way driver is in serious, but stable condition and that the other driver has a broken leg, but is in good condition.
DPS is investigating whether speed, drugs or alcohol were a factor in the incident.
Portions of SR-143 and I-10 were closed until 6:30 a.m.
