Tallahassee, FL : Lake County woman dies after Orange wrong-way crash on State Road 414 on Sunday, 21st October 2018

A 44-year-old Mount Dora woman died early Sunday when a car traveling the wrong way on State Road 414 crashed into the motorcycle she was riding on, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Lateisha Rhodes was riding on the back of a 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle around 3:35 a.m., driven by an unidentified 34-year-old Clermont man, when they were struck by a 2014 Kia four-door car going eastbound in the westbound lanes of the highway near mile marker 9, said FHP spokeswoman Lt. Kim Montes.

Rhodes was taken to a nearby hospital where she later died, Montes said. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition, she added.

The car’s driver, 26-year-old Apopka resident Bryuanna Davis, sustained minor injuries in the crash and was taken to a nearby Florida Hospital.
