Grand Lake, MN : 4 people severely injured in 3-vehicle crash on Highway 53 at Caribou Lake Rd. in Grand Lake Township on Monday, 23rd November, 2020

Four people have life threatening injuries and two others with non life threatening injuries following an a three-vehicle crash on Highway 53 at Caribou Lake Rd. in Grand Lake Township Monday evening.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported a 2011 Buick LaCrosse was Northbound on Hwy 53 and struck a deer. It then stopped on the right shoulder and partially in the right lane. A 2018 RAM 1500 was traveling Northbound on Hwy 53 and struck the Buick after it had stopped. Two pedestrians were checking on occupants of the Buick. A 2020 Ford Ecosport was Northbound on Hwy 53 and struck the Buick causing one of the vehicles to strike the pedestrians.

The highway was shut down at the Caribou Lake Road for a time following the 5:10 p-m crash.
