Sacramento ,CA : suspected drunk driver damaged two homes and a water main in a South Sacramento neighborhood On Thursday morning, December 4th 2014
Patricia Robertson, 56, of Sacramento, is a third-grade teacher at Earl Warren Elementary School in the Sacramento City Unified School District.
"We would never take an issue like this lightly," said Gabe Ross, a spokesman for the district. "She's being placed on paid administrative leave this evening, as we begin our investigation with law enforcement to make sure we do a thorough investigation. Obviously, (this is) not acceptable behavior."
Sacramento Metro Fire officials said just before 9 a.m., Robertson clipped a car near the 8100 block of Arnside Way, which caused her to hit another car that was parked in the driveway of a home.
That car crashed into the home, but no one was inside.
Robertson's car continued to careen out of control as it smashed into another house and took out a water main, fire officials said.
"We're very fortunate that no one seriously got hurt in this ordeal," CHP officer Rick Turner said.
At the time of the crash, Robertson had a blood alcohol content level that was more than three times the legal limit, according to a field sobriety screening conducted by the CHP.
Patrick Nance, who lives near the scene, said he approached Robertson's vehicle after the crash.
