Farmington, CT : Truck crash ruptures fire hydrant in Farmington, spewing water into the air on Thursday, 26th March, 2020
A pickup truck crashed into a fire hydrant Thursday afternoon in Farmington, spewing water into the air and forcing crews to shut down New Britain Avenue.
The truck veered off the road before 6 p.m. Thursday and destroyed the fire hydrant, causing huge amounts of pressurized water to fly into the air and onto the street, soaking the truck inside and out, Farmington police showed in a video captured at the scene.Police have not said whether the driver of the truck or anyone else was injured in the crash.
New Britain Avenue was shut down at 6 p.m. between Oakridge Road and Roma Drive and it was not immediately clear when the road might reopen.
