GRANGER, WA : Grandview man in critical condition after crash on State Route 22 on Friday, September 8, 2017

A 20-year-old Grandview man was listed in critical condition Friday after a his sport utility vehicle rear-ended a tractor-trailer on State Route 22 on Thursday.Lukes Herrera was eastbound in a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo when he struck the trailer of a truck driven by Troy Mears, 50, of Grandview, according to the Washington State Patrol. Mears was not injured, the State Patrol said.The crash occurred about 6 miles east of Granger at 3 p.m. Herrera was taken to Virginia Mason Memorial hospital in Yakima.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts. The cause of the crash is under investigation, the State Patrol said.
