Apex , NC : Three people injured in crash after car collided with the bus at the intersection of Holt Road on Monday Morning , March . 2nd 2015

A school bus was involved in a wreck Monday morning in Apex.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Holt Road and Jenks Carpenter Road about a mile from Salem Elementary at approximately 8:30 a.m. Monday.

A neighbor told WNCN's Emma Wright that a car collided with the bus on Holt Road and that the driver of the car had to be cut out of the vehicle.

Scott Chatterton, who lives near the intersection, said cars fly down Holt Road and often blow through the stop signs in the area.

Lisa Luten with Wake County Schools said 16 children from Baucom Elementary School were on board the bus at the time of the crash. Three of the children were taken to the hospital.

Officials told WNCN's Steve Sbraccia that charges are pending.

The remaining children were transferred to another bus and taken to school.
