A man who had been drinking lost control of his BMW and crashed on Highway 101 in Santa Clara, killing a passenger, authorities said Thursday.Stephen Craig Hunt, 42, of Sunnyvale was speeding on northbound Highway 101 north of Great America Parkway about 11:55 p.m. Wednesday when he failed to negotiate a turn, said Officer Ross Lee of the California Highway Patrol.
