LAKELAND, FL : 16-year-old boy killed in crash while father was driving him to school on Friday, 25th October 2024

A 16-year-old boy was killed in a crash while his father was driving him to school early Friday morning.

The crash happened around 6:15 a.m. on County Line Road at Ewell Road in unincorporated Lakeland.

Deputies say a father was driving south on County Line Road taking his two sons, ages 14 and 16, to George Jenkins High School in a blue 2008 Toyota Corolla. As the man turned left onto Ewell Road, his car was hit by a burgundy 2018 Ford F150 pickup truck that was heading north on County Line Road.
