Allentown, PA : Motorcyclist dies in Route 309 crash in Lower Macungie Township on Saturday, March 25, 2017

A 24-year-old motorcyclist was killed Saturday when his bike hit a bridge abutment on Route 309 in Lower Macungie Township, the Lehigh County coroner's office said.

Baher Raafat Eskander of Allentown was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred around 12:45 p.m., the coroner's office said in a news release.

Eskander was riding south on Route 309 at the overpass with Interstate 78 east when his motorcycle crashed, the release said.

State police at Fogelsville are investigating the accident.
