Fairfield County, OH : Motorist died in a fiery crash involving two vehicles in Walnut Township on Thursday, April 14, 2016

A motorist who died in a fiery crash involving two vehicles in Fairfield County Thursday has not yet been identified, the State Highway Patrol said.

The patrol gave this account of the crash, which occurred at about 6:30 p.m.:

Jason Stoll, 35, of Newark, was driving a Chevy Silverado hauling a trailer north on Custer's Point Road, north of Rt. 204 in Walnut Township. He pulled over and stopped off the right side of the road, with the vehicle partially blocking the northbound lane.

A northbound Chevy passenger car traveling at a high rate of speed approached the stopped vehicle, and the driver lost control. The car drove off the left side of the road, hit a mail box and two trees and caught fire. The identification of the driver, who was alone, is being investigated. Stoll's vehicle was not hit.
