Ottumwa, IA : One man killed and five others injured in crash on Highway 63 at Rabbit Run Road on Wednesday, April 8, 2015

Authorities say one person was killed and five others were hurt in a crash in Ottumwa.

The Ottumwa Police Department received a report of the collision around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday. 88-year-old Willis Delbert Rowe, of Moulton, was taken to a Des Moines hospital, where he later died.

Five others were transported to Ottumwa Regional Health Center. Their names and conditions haven't been released.

Police say a vehicle was traveling westbound on Rabbit Run Road and had entered an intersection when it was struck by another vehicle heading southbound on Highway 63. The driver of the first car was issued a citation for obedience to an official traffic control device.

Authorities say investigation into the collision is ongoing.
