Newport News, VA : A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash on May, Wednesday, 10th 2017

A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash in Virginia Beach Wednesday, officials said.

The crash happened shortly after 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of Ferrell Parkway and Pleasant Valley Road, Master Police Officer Tonya Pierce said in a news release.Investigators think a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta was at the intersection and attempting to turn onto Ferrell Parkway when it turned into the path of a 2014 Harley Davidson, Pierce said.

The operator of the Harley Davidson was taken to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition, she said.

This case remains an active investigation, and charges are pending.
