Brentwood,CA : Head-on crash on Highway 4 in Brentwood hospitalizes three on January, Wednesday 3rd 2018
Three people were hospitalized, one with major injuries, after a head-on crash Wednesday between a pickup truck and an SUV on Highway 4.
A medical helicopter took the critically injured person to an undisclosed hospital, according to Battalion Chief Jake Gonzalez of the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District. Fire crews used hydraulic tools to cut that person free from the wreckage, he said.
The injuries, though major, were not considered life-threatening, California Highway Patrol spokesman Officer Brandon Correia said.
Two others were taken by ambulance to a hospital. A man driving the Ford F-150 truck had minor injuries, as did a woman driving the SUV, which was a Chevy HHR.The two vehicles collided around 4:23 p.m., between Marsh Creek Road and Balfour Road in an unincorporated part of the city.
The CHP closed Highway 4 in both directions to investigate.
