Manatee County, FL : Woman critically injured in crash at I-75 ramp early Tuesday morning, February 16, 2016

A woman was critically injured early Tuesday morning in a crash at an Interstate 75 entrance ramp.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol:

At about 2 a.m., Kylie S. Lewis, 26, of Parrish was driving a 2014 Impala westbound on U.S. 301 in the center lane, approaching the traffic light for the southbound entrance ramp to I-75.

A tractor-trailer driven by Mudasar Abid, 26, of Elk Grove, California, was stopped eastbound on U.S. 301 in the outer left turn lane, waiting to turn onto the southbound entrance ramp of I-75.

Abid told troopers that he made a left turn after the traffic light arrows turned green. Lewis failed to stop for the red traffic light and her car drove underneath the tractor-trailer.

Lewis was critically injured and was taken to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton. Abid was not injured.
