A box truck and a sedan crashed into the median on Interstate 93 in Northfield on Monday, sending at least two people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, state police said.
Police responded to the crash about 9:11 a.m. on Monday on I-93 north in the area south of Exit 19.
The box truck went off the road and hit a tree, while the Toyota came to a final stop in the center median next to the truck. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage.
Police said the crash occurred when the box truck, driven by Siarhei Varanko, 28, of Manchester, tried to move into the left lane to pass another car. The Toyota, driven by Heather Moody, 36, of Boscawen, was traveling in the left lane behind the truck.
Police said the truck clipped the front of the Toyota as it changed lanes, sending both vehicles out of control. The Toyota became attached to the truck’s rear bumper and both slid off the road.
