Holden, UT : West Jordan woman killed in wrong-way crash on I-15 in Millard County on Thursday afternoon, June 30, 2016

A West Jordan woman was killed and a child was critically injured in a wrong-way, head-on collision Thursday afternoon on I-15, police said.

Jessie A. Jensen, 26, was traveling south in a Saturn Ion on northbound I-15 about 2:45 p.m. when it crashed head-on into a Dodge Grand Caravan between Holden and Scipio, said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce. Jensen died on scene.

Two "young girls" were also in the Saturn, Royce said. One of them was critically injured and airlifted to Primary Children's Hospital. She was expected to survive. The other girl was not injured. Their exact ages were not immediately released, though Royce said they are "children."

The driver of the Grand Caravan suffered minor injuries and was transported to Fillmore Community Medical Center. Everyone in the crash except Jensen was wearing proper safety restraints, Royce said.

Police temporarily restricted traffic in the area to one lane, according to the sergeant.

Police were still investigating Thursday afternoon why the Saturn was traveling in the wrong direction.
