BLACKBERRY TOWNSHIP, IL : Sugar Grove man charged in DUI crash on Tuesday, 1st December, 2020

A Sugar Grove man whose blood alcohol content was more than double the legal limit was charged with driving under the influence after he crashed a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck into a pole and a ditch, according to Kane County Sheriff’s reports.

Matthew J. Noel, 21, of the 200 block of Somerset Drive, Sugar Grove, was also charged on Nov. 28 with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane use, not having a valid registration and driving with a blood alcohol content greater than 0.08%, according to reports.

Noel’s blood alcohol content was measured at 0.176% the report stated, more than double the legal limit of 0.08%.

Deputies were called at about 1:30 a.m. to a single vehicle crash, where the Dodge Ram pickup truck was facing north in the ditch, east of the 2S800 block of Bliss Road, approximately a quarter mile north of Norris Road, reports stated.

The truck had heavy front end damage and the driver was lying next to the driver's side rear with his left leg appearing to be broken below the knee, reports stated.
