Corydon, IN : Motorcyclist dies in crash on S.R. 64, west of Greenbrier Road on Saturday, July 2, 2016

A Georgetown man was killed Saturday when he crashed his motorcycle.

Stephen W. Coats, 35, was driving east on S.R. 64 when he crashed into a tree.

Witnesses told the Harrison County Sheriff's Dept. that the motorcycle had crossed the center line and then went back into its lane of traffic. The motorcycle then wobbled and went off the south side of the road, according to a crash report.

Police said Coats was thrown from his motorcycle, which hit a tree.

The crash occurred at about 5:20 p.m. just west of Greenbrier Road.

Harrison County Coroner Rusty Sizemore said Coats, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene.

Toxicology results are pending.
