Robinson, PA : Finleyville woman killed in a one-vehicle crash near West End Drive in Robinson Township on Tuesday night, May 10, 2016

A Finleyville woman was killed Tuesday night in a one-vehicle crash on Noblestown Road near West End Drive in Robinson Township that also slightly injured her 19-month-old son and mother, who was a front-seat passenger.

Brittany Lynn Fodor, 26, of Stone Church Road, Union Township, was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple injuries, said Washington County Coroner Tim Warco.

McDonald police Officer Brad Resnik said Fodor was driving east about 9:30 p.m., approaching the McDonald Borough line near Heritage Park, when the Chevrolet Cavalier she was driving went off the right side of the road, striking decorative landscape boulders.

Fodor lost control of the car, which crossed the intersection of West End and traveled 95 feet before striking the end of a guardrail, Resnik said. The guardrail impaled the car, going through the motor and windshield, and hitting Fodor.

Fodor’s son, Ron Harpley Jr., was properly restrained in a child safety seat in the right rear passenger side of the car. Police and McDonald firefighters freed the boy. He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh as a precaution for an evaluation. Fodor’s mother, Marge Mazko, 46, of Imperial, had to be cut out of the vehicle by firefighters. She was taken to St. Clair Hospital for treatment.

Resnik believes Fodor was going about 45 mph at the time of the crash, based on the speedometer reading. The officer said the road was wet from an earlier rain, but that it was not raining at the time of the crash. He did not know the intended destination, or from where the family had come.

Also assisting at the scene was Fort Cherry Ambulance.

Fodor was the ninth person to die on Washington County roads this year.
