Authorities say the driver of a pickup truck was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving at the scene of a freeway crash that killed a motorcyclist in San Bernardino.

The California Highway Patrol says westbound traffic was backed up for hours following the crash late Sunday on Interstate 210.

The Sun newspaper reports witnesses said the pickup crashed into a car before striking the motorcycle.

Initial reports said the motorcyclist was dragged underneath the pickup for more than 500 feet.

The newspaper says the pickup driver was taken into custody after being given a roadside field sobriety test. His name was not released.

The identity of the motorcyclist was withheld pending family notification.

Freeway lanes were reopened again early Monday.
