A crash on Oregon 99E about three miles south of Oregon City has injured three people and closed southbound traffic, Oregon State Police said.
The crash occurred around 2:45 p.m. on Monday when a southbound pickup with two occupants pulled over and stopped on a limited shoulder due to a vehicle problem, OSP said. The driver was outside the pickup when a passenger car hit the rear of the pickup, hitting the driver.
The vehicle came to a rest blocking both the southbound lanes and part of the northbound lane.
The pickup driver, a man, was flown to Oregon Health & Science University Hospital with serious injuries. The passenger, a woman, was taken to OHSU with minor injuries. The passenger car's driver was taken to OHSU with non-life threatening injuries.
All southbound lanes are closed, and one northbound lane is closed, according to Department of Transportation officials. The highway is scheduled to reopen at 5 p.m.
