A St. Petersburg woman was killed in a head-on crash Sunday night when she veered into the opposite lane of 66th Street N, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash took place at about 11:20 p.m. Troopers said Ambreuna L. Brown, 26, was driving a 2014 Hyundai Sonata on the northbound lane of 66th Street N. Then at the intersection of 118th Avenue N she crossed into the southbound lanes of 66th Street N and struck a 2014 Toyota Camry driven by Ryan Matthews, 18, of St. Petersburg, FHP said.
Brown was pronounced dead at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, FHP said. She was not wearing her seat belt, the report said.
Ryan and three passengers — Vivian Antenucci, 16, of Seminole; Shelly Melendez Matos, 17, of Largo; and Jacob Hutfilz, 17, of Palm Harbor — were all taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Alcohol was a factor in the crash, FHP said.
