Florence, NJ : Pedestriankilled when hit by a car on Delaware Avenue near Hamilton Street early Saturday, December 19, 2015

A pedestrian who was walking along the side of the road was killed when hit by a car early Saturday, Florence police said.

The crash happened around 12 a.m. Saturday on Delaware Avenue near Hamilton Street, according to police, who initially posted about the crash on their Facebook Page. They released more information on the crash Saturday afternoon

Officers arrived at Delaware Avenue early Saturday morning to find a pedestrian dead on the scene after being hit by a car. The driver of the car was not injured, according to police Saturday afternoon.

Police had not filed any charges in the crash by the evening.

They are withholding the names of the people involved until police can speak with their families.

The crash is still under investigation and police were not releasing more details on the nature of the crash Saturday afternoon.
