VERNON, CT : Rescuers extricate man after Vernon crash on Tuesday, January 17th 2017
A man was taken to Rockville General Hospital early Tuesday evening after his pickup truck flipped over on Route 83, briefly trapping him inside.
Fire crews were called to the area of 184 Talcottville Road, near the intersection of Talcottville Road and Sunset Terrace, shortly after 6 p.m., according to Tolland County 911.
The truck had driven off the road and come to a stop, overturned down an embankment. Firefighters freed the man from the passenger side of the vehicle shortly after arriving on the scene. The man was conscious and speaking with first responders as he was extricated from his truck, rescuers reported. No other vehicle appeared to be involved in the accident.
A steady rain was falling at the time of the rollover, though it is not yet known if slippery conditions caused the crash. No further information concerning the driver’s condition was available this morning.
