N.J. biker killed in Kent's 3rd weekend bike crash

Police are investigating three weekend motorcycle crashes, including one Sunday afternoon that killed a New Jersey man.Police said Dominik Kokoszka, 26, of Iselin was going east around 4:30 p.m. on Route 301 on a 2007 Kawasaki when he crossed the double-yellow line and struck a westbound 2009 Toyota driven by Hideo Katsuki, 48, of Queens.Kokoszka was pronounced dead at Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel, where Katsuki and his five passengers, who ranged in age from 3 to 10, were treated and released. Police said they were awaiting the result of toxicology reports.Matthew Coleman, 18, of Brewster suffered a serious injury around 5:20 p.m. Saturday when the 2008 Husqvarna motorcycle he was riding on Gipsy Trail Road collided head-on with a 2008 Chevrolet driven by Arthur Cusano, 36, of Kent. Coleman was flown to Westchester Medical Center and admitted to the intensive-care unit. Police said he was speeding.Richard Lamberti, 23, of Kent was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, driving without insurance and having switched plates when police said he went off Hill and Dale Road on a 2005 Suzuki about 4 p.m. Sunday, landing in brush on the roadside. He declined medical attention and is due in Town Court on Thursday.The region saw other fatal motorcycle accidents this weekend. Gregory McIver, 51, of New Rochelle was killed Saturday afternoon when his motorcycle and two other riders were in an accident in Harriman State Park. Lamont Parks, 49, of Peekskill was hospitalized with a serious head injury while Corey Beech, 25, of Peekskill was treated at a hospital.Gregory Matteo, 25, of Putnam Valley suffered a serious head injury Sunday when his motorcycle struck a pedestrian on Oscawana Lake Road in Putnam Valley.
