Sarasota, FL : Palmetto motorcyclist dies in accident in Manatee County Wednesday night, August 17, 2016

A Palmetto man has died in a two-vehicle accident in Manatee County Wednesday night, the Florida Highway Patrol reports. Dead is Kristopher Lee Tice, 25, of Palmetto.

According to reports, Tice's Suzuki motorcycle was southbound on U.S. 41, approaching 28th Avenue West, in the left lane, at a high rate of speed. A Dodge Caravan driven by Marvin Jose Palacios, 58, of Bradenton was stopped, facing east, on 28th Avenue West. Palacios, failing to see the approaching Tice, pulled out to cross U.S. 41 and was struck by Tice's motorcycle.

The FHP reports alcohol was not involved in the accident.
