Anchor Point ,AK : 75- Years old Adolph Weitzel killed after Crashing into House near milepost 151.5 of the Sterling Highway on Sunday morning ,May 17th 2015
A South Carolina man died Sunday when his car was found crashed into a house five miles north of Anchor Point, troopers wrote in a dispatch Monday.
Troopers received a call around 10:29 a.m. Sunday from a person who said that they found a blue 2006 Chevrolet truck crashed into the side of their relative's house near milepost 151.5 of the Sterling Highway. The driver was reportedly trapped in car.
Adolph Weitzel, 76, of South Carolina was removed from the wreck by responding emergency medical services and troopers and was transported to South Peninsula Hospital in Homer where he was pronounced dead.
According to trooper spokesperson Megan Peters, at the time, it appears that no one saw the crash take place.
The victim's next of kin have been notified.
Circumstances leading up to Weitzel's death are being investigated at the time.
