San Clemente, CA : A motorcyclist and his wife were fatally injured when the bike crashed at San Diego (5) Freeway On Sunday, July 10th, 2016

A motorcyclist and his wife were fatally injured when the bike crashed just after midnight Sunday on the San Diego (5) Freeway in San Clemente.

They were later identified as Christopher Goodrich, 35, and Luz Goodrich, 32, according to the coroner's office. The couple had resided in Lakeside, just north of El Cajon in San Diego County.

Luz Goodrich died one day after her 32nd birthday, according to the coroner's office.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at about 12:20 a.m. to the crash on the northbound 5 Freeway near Avenida Vista Hermosa, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Steven Concialdi.

Both were rushed to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, where they later died from their injuries, Concialdi said.
