Rapid City,SD : Five die in crash with semi in western South Dakota on may, Monday 29th 2017

Five people were killed when a vehicle collided head-one with a semi over the Memorial Day weekend near Wanblee, S.D., in far southwest South Dakota on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation about 100 miles from Rapid City, according to a report on KNBN-TV.
The only survivor was a 16-month-old baby boy.

Four of the people killed in the accident were family members of the Wanblee Volunteer Fire Department Chief Jon Siedschlaw, said the report.


They were his son Ashton Standing Bear, 21, granddaughter Jaceya Cummings, 7, granddaughter Micah Cummings, 7 and daughter Tawni Wilcox, 30.

Wilcox’s boyfriend, Devin Conquering Bear, who age was unknown, also died.

Wilcox was six months pregnant. That was her baby boy who survived the crash, and he was airlifted to Rapid City Regional Hospital with a broken collarbone and fractured skull. He was in a car seat.

Standing Bear was also a volunteer firefighter.

The driver and passenger of the semi-tractor trailer were uninjured.
