Middletown ,CT : Tractor trailer crash causes fire on I-83 on Thursday evening ,July 9th 2015

tractor trailer hauling other vehicles was involved in a crash that resulted in a fire on I-83 northbound at Middletown Road in Parkton Thursday evening, police said.

State police said the vehicle crashed into the guardrail and became engulfed in flames. The driver was injured but is in stable condition, according to state police, who responded before 8 p.m.

All northbound lanes were shut down for an extended closure, but state police said at 11:15 p.m. that all lanes would be open within "a few minutes."
