Green Bay,WI: 20 years old man Killed from injuries sustained two vehicle crash on Friday morning, 7th November 2014
A Coleman, WI resident has died in a Green Bay, WI hospital as a result of injuries from a two vehicle crash.
The Marinette County Sheriff's Office reports that Ryan L. Zempel, 20, passed away early Friday morning. The crash occurred on Wednesday in the town of Grover in Marinette County. Zempel was driving a four door sedan and attempted to cross US-41 at Kamm Road when he was struck broadside by a southbound GMC Yukon driven by Frank Duda, a 47-year-old Lena, WI resident. Duda was transported to Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette for treatment of his injuries. He is expected to recover.
Authorities say that failure to yield appears to be a factor in the crash. They have ruled out drugs and alcohol as a factor. The incident remains under investigation by the Sheriff's Office and the Coroner.
The Marinette County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Peshtigo Police Department, Oconto County Sheriff's Office, City of Marinette Police Department, Grover Porterfield Fire Department, Town of Peshtigo Fire Department, Bay Area Medical Paramedics, Wisconsin Public Service, Marinette County Highway Department and Marinette County Sheriff's Auxiliary.
