PHOENIX, AZ : Man on scooter hit killed by vehicle in north Phoenix on Wednesday, 16th October 2024

A man is dead after he collided with a car while he was riding a gas-powered scooter in north Phoenix early Wednesday morning.

Police say around 1:30 a.m., 42-year-old Gary Helton was riding his scooter on Cave Creek Road near Cheryl Drive, which is south of Peoria Avenue, in the left-hand turn lane when he and the driver crashed head-on.

Helton died at the scene, police said.
