A teenage boy was killed Thursday evening after a tree fell onto the vehicle he was in, causing the car to swerve and hit another tree, Portland police said. The crash occurred around 5:27 p.m. on Southwest Terwilliger Boulevard near Castleridge Lane. The boy and a woman were extricated from the car, Portland fire officials said. The boy died at the scene, and the woman was taken to a Portland hospital with life-threatening injuries. Portland police officials said the crash is weather-related, and the tree fell due to high winds.
