Plainview, TX : Amarillo man has serious injuries after motorcycle crash on Wednesday, July 6, 2016

An Amarillo man sustained life-threatening injures in a one-vehicle motorcycle crash.

Heath L. Pearson, 37, was traveling southbound near the 1900 block of Port Lane and failed to negotiate a curve, according to a news release from Amarillo Police Department.

The motorcycle went down in the roadway and slide into the curb and embankment. Pearson was not wearing a helmet, APD said.

Pearson was transported to a local hospital. APD, in the news release, said it believes speed and alcohol are factors in the crash.

The crash occurred around 6:56 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the news release.

The investigation is ongoing.
