La Crosse, WI : A Wauzeka man was killed on Tuesday, June 27, 2017

A Wauzeka man was killed early Tuesday morning when his minivan crossed the center line of a Grant County highway and struck a semi head on.

Lee Steinhorst, 33, died at the scene following the crash that happened at about 4:15 a.m. on Highway 61 in the town of Fennimore, the Sheriff's Office said.

Semi driver David Olson, 61, of Minnesota, was not injured.

Steinhorst was going north on Highway 61 near Greenwood Road and Olson was going south, when Steinhorst's minivan crossed the center line and struck the semi head on, both vehicles coming to rest in the road.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by the Fennimore Police, Fire and EMS Departments, Boscobel Police and the State Patrol.

This was the third fatal crash in Grant County in 2017.
