Windham, CT : Woman died and another injured after a car crash on U.S. Route 6 in Windham early Sunday morning, Nov 22, 2015

State Police say a Windham woman has died after her car crashed and she was thrown from the vehicle.

Police say 20-year-old Emily Marrotte was driving her 1998 Toyota Avalon X on U.S. Route 6 in Windham early Sunday morning when she lost control on a curve.

Police say the vehicle went down an embankment and hit a Windham Airport fence, ejecting Marrotte from the vehicle.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 21-year-old passenger was taken to Windham Hospital with serious injuries. Lydia Pepin, of Mansfield Center, has since been airlifted to Hartford Hospital.

Her condition is not yet known.

Authorities are investigating the crash.
