Widefield, Co : Colorado State Patrol cites El Paso County deputy after crash on Sunday moring, March 8, 2015

An El Paso County Sheriff's deputy was cited for careless driving after a single vehicle crash that ended with the back end of the patrol car on top of a guardrail, according to the Colorado State Patrol and Gazette news partners KKTV.

The crash happened on Fontaine Boulevard in Widefield on Sunday morning.

The deputy was not hurt.

State patrol says the deputy was driving west when he/she lost control and went off the side of the road.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
