Scottsbluff, NE : Three people injured after a three-vehicle wreck on Wednesday morning, February 1, 2017
A Scottsbluff firefighter assists a man out of a vehicle after a three-vehicle wreck Wednesday morning. The Scottsbluff Police Department, Scottsbluff Fire Department and Valley Ambulance responded to a three-vehicle accident at about 9:30 Wednesday. Three people were transported by ambulance to Regional West Medical Center.
According to information released by the Scottsbluff Police Department, Amber Shimek, 24, of Minatare, NE. was driving a silver 1984 Toyota Tercel Wagon southbound in the 2300 block of Broadway and made a left turn in front of a red 2005 Dodge Caravan being driven by Jason Marlin, 38 of Scottsbluff. The impact caused Marlin's vehicle to spin clockwise, striking a blue 2011 Ford Fusion driven by Robert Polk, 47, of Scottsbluff. Polk had been stopped at the sign at East 23rd St. and Broadway.
Marlin and Shimek's vehicles were totaled. Polk's vehicle sustained $900 in damaged.
Shimek, Marlin, and an adult passenger in Marlin's vehicle were transported by Valley Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries. Shimek was cited on a charge of failure to yield.
Valley Ambulance and Scottsbluff Fire Department assisted in the response.
