Rolla, MO : Rolla man dies in motorcycle crash, O'Fallon man arrested for involuntary manslaughter on Monday, 24th October 2016
The Rolla Daily News has learned that 51 year-old Jerry L. Huskey, of O’Fallon, Mo. was arrested for involuntary manslaughter in the four vehicle crash Monday at 12:10, five miles east of Rolla, on Hwy. 72. James A. Finazzo, age 67, of Rolla and Donald R. Ware, age 60, of Rolla had stopped their Harley Davidson motorcycles to make a left turn. Husky, following behind the motorcycles, failed to slow down and struck the motorcycles from behind. Debris from the crash struck another eastbound vehicle, a Mazda CX-9 operated by Lisa Jo Haller, age 49, from Rolla.
James A. Finazzo was pronounced dead at 12:50 p.m. by acting Phelps County Coroner, Scott Jarrett, a deputy with the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department. The body was transported to James and Gahr Mortuary in Rolla. Next of kin has been notified.
Donald R. Ware was flown by Mercy Air to University Hospital in Columbia, in serious condition. Lisa Jo Haller received minor injuries and sought her own treatment.
Husky received moderate injuries and was transported by emergency medical services to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla. Not only is Huskey arrested for involuntary manslaughter, he has additional charges for two counts of assault in the 2nd degree, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident and no insurance. He is now in the Phelps County jail.
