CALDWELL, OH : A Caldwell man who suffered serious injuries in a one-vehicle crash on May, Thursday, 18th 2017
A Caldwell man who suffered serious injuries in a one-vehicle crash Thursday night on Route 285 was flown to The Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center by medical helicopter for treatment.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol's Cambridge post identified the motorist as 54-year-old David Wheeler.
A supervisor at Wexner Medical Center said she could not provide any information regarding Wheeler's condition prior to press time.
According to reports, Wheeler was driving a pickup truck on Route 285 near mile post 2 when the vehicle went off the roadway and struck a concrete bridge railing.
Wheeler was reportedly transported by United Ambulance to a landing zone established near the Noble Correctional Institution in order to be flown to the Columbus hospital.It was not known as of press time if there were any contributing factors to the accident. It was also not known if Wheeler was wearing a safety belt.
The truck driven by Wheeler sustained extensive damage.
The accident remained under investigation by the patrol's Cambridge post.
