FOUNTAIN HILLS, AZ : 2 motorcyclists seriously hurt after crash on SR 87 east of Phoenix on Monday, 2nd September 2024

Two people have been rushed to a hospital with serious injuries after a motorcycle crash Monday morning east of Phoenix.

The two-motorcycle crash happened just before 10 a.m. on State Route 87, about 3 miles north of Bush Highway.

A total of two people, one rider from each motorcycle, suffered serious injuries, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said. No one else was hurt.

The northbound lanes of SR 87 were temporarily closed past Bush Highway, but the roadway was reopened around 10:30 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
