PALMDALE, CA : Street racing may have preceded fatal Palmdale crash on Sunday, February 12th 2017

Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials say a man and a woman were killed when the car they were in crashed into a traffic signal pole in Palmdale.

Sgt. Oscar Martinez says investigators are trying to determine whether the car was involved in a street race at the time of the violent crash Sunday evening.

Martinez says another vehicle sped away.

He says the car hit the pole with such force that it “disintegrated.” The two victims died at the scene.
