Pocatello, ID : American Falls woman killed in 3-vehicle crash near Arimo Wednesday morning, March 22, 2017

An American Falls woman was killed Wednesday morning in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 15.

The crash occurred at milepost 40 near Arimo at approximately 6:12 a.m.

According to Idaho State Police, Kathleen Garcia, 36, was headed southbound in a 2004 Saturn Ion when she struck the rear of a 2015 Freightliner driven by Shane Jones, 41, of Pocatello.

Garcia’s vehicle went off the shoulder, overcorrected and rolled, coming to rest in the left lane facing the wrong direction.

Then, Garcia’s vehicle was struck by a 2008 Peterbilt driven by Dale Dean, 52, of Hermiston, Oregon.

Police said Garcia was wearing her seatbelt and succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Idaho State Police said the crash remains under investigation.
