JOHNSON COUNTY, KS : Pedestrian dies after hit-and-run on Kansas highway on Saturday, 12th August 2023

A pedestrian on a Kansas highway was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday, the Kansas Highway Patrol says.

The accident occurred just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday on I-35 in Johnson County, just north of Santa Fe, when KHP reported that an unknown vehicle struck a pedestrian without stopping.

The victim, identified as 27-year-old Maxwell Michael Pozek, was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to the Johnson County Medical Examiner's Office, KHP says. No additional details were provided.
