Pine Bluff, AR : Woman killed in Jefferson County wreck on the 2400 block of Petty Road on early Monday, September 8, 2014

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says it's investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a 28-year-old woman. The sheriff's office says the wreck happened early Monday on the 2400 block of Petty Road. Deputies responding to the scene discovered the wreckage of a vehicle and the driver, Heather Kirkpatrick-Withers of Pine Bluff, was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff's office says Withers was the only occupant in the vehicle. A preliminary report indicates that Withers tried to negotiate a curve but drove off the roadway and struck a tree.
