Maryville, TN : Indiana man dies in Blount County motorcycle accident Thursday on July 10, 2014

An Indian man was killed Thursday in a motorcycle accident in Blount County, a release from the sheriff's office said.

Lloyd Wayne Dyer, 64, of Shelbyville, Indiana, was pronounced dead at UT Medical Center.

Deputies say Dyer was heading south on Calderwood Highway near Harrison Branch around 3:00 p.m. when he ran off the road and was thrown from the motorcycle.

Dyer was not wearing a motorcycle helmet, according to officers.

The Blount County Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the accident.
