GLEN BURNIE, MD : 2 young girls seriously injured in hit-and-run crash on Monday, 31st December 2018

Two young girls were hospitalized after they were injured in a hit-and-run crash in the Glen Burnie area Monday.

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department said firefighters were called around 7:06 p.m. to a crash in the 600 block of East Ordnance Road near Blades Lane.Fire officials said a 9-year-old girl and a 10-year-old girl were in the rear seat of the SUV that was hit.

"They were both transported by paramedics up to the Pediatric Trauma Center at Johns Hopkins. They had injuries, unfortunately, that were serious, but don't appear to be life-threatening," Anne Arundel County fire Capt. Russ Davies

Two adults in the front seats of the SUV did not have injuries that needed hospitalization, fire officials said.

Fire officials said the other vehicle, a tow truck, left the scene after the crash.
